1. To persevere in our faith, we must recognise that we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses and lay aside every hindrance and sin (Hebrews 12.1).
2. To persevere in the race, we must fix our eyes on Jesus, because He is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith (verses 2–3).

1. What are the hindrances in your life that hinder you from pursuing God?
2. Why do we need to fix our eyes on Jesus in order to persevere in our faith?
3. Are there any witnesses around us that encourage us to persevere in our faith?
