Sermon
Unprofitable Servants
Sermon Outline
1. God owes us nothing – everything we have is a gift of His grace and mercy, not a reward ‘earned’ with our good behaviour.
2. We should never think we’ve done ‘enough’ for God – even when we’ve done well, we must stay humble and keep growing: there’s no room for spiritual laziness or pride.
3. Following Jesus means continual growth and self-discipline, demanding daily effort – true discipleship means quietly choosing obedience every day: we must keep pressing forward, not relax or go with the flow.
Questions to think about
1. Have you ever felt like you’ve ‘done enough’ to serve God? What are some dangers of thinking that way?
2. What are some small, daily ways you can show faithful obedience to Jesus this week, even when you don’t feel like it?
3. What’s one thing you can do to take a step forward in your walk with Jesus this week, rather than just ‘going with the flow’?
